Expanding access and affordability
We focus on equity where it matters most – in the communities we serve. For example, we invest in urban neighborhoods like the South Side of Chicago while expanding virtual care in rural areas.
In addition, we offer one of the nation’s most generous financial assistance programs. It supports families earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level, with many approvals happening automatically.
Committed to clinical excellence
We continuously improve care across our system. Our efforts have reduced patient mortality rates by 14%.
At the same time, more of our hospitals have earned Leapfrog “A” safety grades – growing from 5 to 24. These outcomes reflect our commitment to quality and safety.
Driving leading-edge innovation
We invest in innovation to shape the future of healthcare. For example, we helped develop The Pearl, a major medical innovation district in Charlotte.
We are also building an AI-enabled, human-led health system. Tools like ambient AI listening reduce administrative work, so clinicians can focus on patient care. Meanwhile, advanced analytics support better decisions across the system.
Our CEO, Eugene Woods, has been named to Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” ten times.
